- started going to the Y and hanging out in the kid zone on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 830 - 930 while Mommy does a class. We generally ride our bike down there, which she absolutely loves. She's starting to throw a fit when I leave her, but never for more than a few minutes. I just step outside and watch her without letting her see me, and she gets over it pretty quickly. It is hard to leave though! She's much better if there's a bunch of kiddos there, she loves playing with the other kids!
- met her little friend Isla Frost for the first time and was quite the talker with her! They were there when she woke up from her nap, and she just went mach 100 the whole time.
- has upgraded to the toddler room at church and does well playing with the other kiddos there.
- went to the beach over labor day weekend and was not scared at all by the waves or the fact that she couldn't see in the water. Remnants of Isaac were around, so we actually had waves, and she still thought it was amazing to run mach 100 towards the water. Mommy and Daddy, not so much!
- played with Daddy at the sand courts (not at the beach!) while Mommy played volleyball, then came home with Mommy to get a nap so Daddy could play!
- is down to one nap. Sometimes it's 2.5 hours +, sometimes it's 40 minutes (blah!). No telling!
- went to the wade pool at a different Y and thought it was so fun to be able to run and splash around in it!
- is really into making animal sounds. Neigh, moo, woof (it's more of a whisper though), ooo ooo ahh ahh or ooo ahh ahh ahh (monkey), roar! are her favorites.
- unlatched from me and said "moooo" and then latched back on. So not funny. Daddy's been teaching her things behind my back I think!!!
- went to the zoo for the first time with her friend Aila and a few other kiddos and thought it was so amazing. She kept saying "hi, HI, HII!!!" to all of the animals. She thought the petting zoo part was great too, and now says "goat" and then snorts like a pig, because the pig was next to the goat.
- went to jump zone for her little friends Arron and Owen Jordan's birthday party and thought it was great! It took her a little bit to get used to all of the noise and kids and to get a hang of what she was supposed to do there, but she thought it was so so much fun once she did!
- played with baby Yulander for a few hours that same day! They were really cute together!
- went to Aila's birthday party at the splash park the next day in the rain! Rain doesn't really slow Kalia down, it just makes our play more wet. She had a blast!
- paid a price for all of the fun and wound up sick for more than a week. She had a fever and a runny nose and was just blah for most of the week. All she wanted to do was sit in the rocker and have me read to her, which I did. I think I can recite every single book she owns now! We did one rocker reading session for TWO hours!
- fell and skinned her nose pretty badly while she was sick. We were out for our morning walk, and her velcro shoes came undone at the heels while she was running, and she fell (but caught herself with her hands). As she was pulling herself up, the velcro around her toes came undone, and she face planted. She had blood running all down her face, and was kind of freaked out by it. Nothing a little pool time didn't fix. She had a big scab on it for a little while and now just has a red mark where the scab was. Poor girl would rub her nose from the snot from being sick and start crying because she'd hit her scab!
- says "oanie nonie" for oatmeal. I'll say "oatMMMeal" and she'll say "oaNEEEE". It's become a big goofy joke around our house, and we run around yelling "oanie nonie!!!".
- absolutely loves this little toddler chair I built for her. She pushes the thing around all over the place, puts her books and dolls in it, and sits down to read. So cute!
- says "deer (or deeh!"). We saw them at the park and she loves to talk about them now.
Kalia still really loves shoes. She got these ones on all by herself!
Daddy put Mommy's goofy headband on Kalia and made her poor little ears stick out, and Kalia thought it was great!
"What's the matter with this look Mommy?!? I'm still cute!" |
Trying to squash some food. She's a toughie!
Yeah, remember when I thought it was a big deal that she could reach the bottom knob??
Game day! Go gators!
Reading to her very best friend in the entire world...
Watching the game like her Daddy and Mommy used to do before Kalia came along!
With Mommy before church...
...and Daddy afterwards. She does really well in the toddler room there!
Looking for the moon, her absolute favorite thing to do in the mornings.
She loves to "yay!".
After the zoo. She ate for a few by herself and then just laid her head on her tray and I shoveled food in her mouth. She was so tired!
Bike ride to the park!
She figured out she could spin this wheel thing all by herself that she's never been able to do before, and was SO proud!
Looking at the deer at the park!
Showing off her new bathing suit!
Fun time at the beach!
Super Daddy!
On our way home from the beach. I told her she was cute, and this is what she does!
Playing with her doll like her Mommy used to. Carrying it around by the head!
Zoo fun!
Kalia and Aila checking out the monkeys...
...petting the goats...she wasn't sure of them!
She got a kick out of the manatees and turtles coming up to the glass. That's her little friend Abby.
Jump zone! Mommy and Daddy might have had just as much fun as Kalia!
Daddy, Kalia, and Aila!
We couldn't get both kiddos to smile at the same time, so I grabbed them in my lap, and both of them smiled, but then Yulander leaned out of the picture frame!
...so I had to get another one with his cute smile!
...Kalia might have hair envy!! ha!
The end!
