Kalia : 17 months

Kalia is growing and developing so much every single day.  I can't believe how much she is picking up!  She :
  • started doing the Gator chomp!  Woot!!  That's my girl!
  • loves to walk Kodi and insists she do so most days.  I have to hide hold the leash so she thinks she's doing it all by herself.
  • had a great visit with Yulander the III.  She thoroughly enjoyed his visit, but I think he thought she was a little crazy.  She yelled a lot, didn't share a ton, and was a crazy mess most of the time, but in her own fun, free spirited way!
  • loves the park and playground - she can't get enough of either one of those!
  • got chicken pox from her late 15 month appt, booo!
  • thinks giving high five's and saying "high bibe!" is the funniest thing in the whole world.
  • has had a few "poop" incidents.  She pooped in the bath tub once, which she was really upset about (trust me, the feeling was mutual, although I tried not to show it to her!).  We've been putting her in disposables to sleep, and she's decided that she likes to take them off and hand them to you.  We'll hear "diaper - ALLL DOONEEE!!!" and the snap of the velcro coming off and we have to go running.
  • is really ticklish in her inner thigh and her armpits.  She loves being tickled right now too!
  • has become OCD.  I'm serious - I looked it up, but apparently it's not diagnosable until the age of 7.  She likes to play in the dirt, and then immediately wants a "dowel!!" (towel) to clean off her hands, gets really upset at water or messy food on her tray, and wants a towel immediately, won't let a drop of water be on the floor or anywhere else without needing a towel to wipe it off, is a pain to finger paint with because she wants a towel inbetween every finger swipe of the paint, and won't go to sleep unless every.single.thing in her room is picked up, put away, and all of her books are facing the correct direction.  Anyone that knows me knows this is going to be a problem.  I'm probably the furthest thing from OCD as you can possibly get!!  :-)  Her Daddy says she's keeping me in line - sigh!
  • had her stats taken at the pediatricians office at her appt.  They were impressed by how much she's speaking (she was telling them there was an owl and a bird in the tree), and said she's one smart cookie (umm...duh!).  The rest of her stats were :
Height : 34 inches (off the charts)
Weight : 24 lbs 4 ounces (60 %)
Head : 47.5 cm (83%)

Compared with her 12 month stats of :
Height : 30 1/2 inches (89%)
Weight : 22 lbs 8 ounces (74%)
Head : 18 1/2" (46.99 cm) (93%)

I knew she had gone through a growth spurt relatively recently - her 18 month clothes are looking awfully short on her these days!  She pretty much grew an inch a month!  She's in all of her 24 month clothes, and a lot of her 2T clothes.  We are out of hand-me-downs, so you'll see a lot of repeat outfits in pictures.  Her weight actually has gone down a little bit from being sick and not eating quite as much, but I'm sure she'll be right up there in no time!

Onto the fun part, pictures!

"Eyes!"  She laughs when she's tired and I catch her rubbing her eyes and says that. She had yelled at me for a towel about 100 times before I took this picture!
I came out from putting Kalia down to see this in the dining room.  She told me she put Elmo, Baby, and Kodi night night.  Cute!

Kalia : "Kodi, lets go for a walk!"  Kodi : "Gimme that!"

"Seriously Mom??  Come on now, she can't be in CHARGE of me too!!!!  YOU walk me, or I'll do it myself!!!"

This is how a picture goes with Kalia these days...Chris telling Kalia to smile...

...then me tickling her inner thigh to make sure she smiled, which gives me the boney neck face for smiling!

 Game Day!  Go Gators!

Chomp Chomp!!!  WAHOO!!!

Fun time with Yulander!

K: "Hey, that's MY car!"  Y3 : "Fine, fine!"
aYulander actually taught Kalia puzzles.  She LOVES them now, but didn't get them too much until after he left!

"Hey Mommy!  We're playing with my puzzle!!"

Y3: "It goes like THIS Kalia."

Kalia LOVES drawing on the chalk wall!

Giving Hugs!
Yay tunnel fun!

Traffic jam!

Kalia : "Wanna play??"

Kalia : "Mommy, tell him how to play in the tub right!!"
 Yay babies and bubbles!!!
 Fun reading time!
Fun times at the park!  Ignore our appearance, we jogged down there with zero intentions to take family pics, and Kalia just looked too cute to not snap a ton!

Pictures from Janelle's camera at another park!

Trouble.

Tada!

Kalia : "Listen Yulander, I'm not kissing you, but I'll give you a hug."

Awwwww!!!!

Kalia : "Allright Yulander, no trying to get fresh with me.  My Daddy is watching!"
