25 week bonus pictures

Keeping warm with Daddy in our new hat and mittens!  (Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Drago).

Playing with one (of many) of her new toys that her many Grandparents got her while we were up in the panhandle for Thanksgiving.  I think Kalia thought it was her birthday, not Chris's!

Kalia in her Thanksgiving dress...she loves her feet!

She does this thing when she thinks you're really funny or being silly where she smiles and pushes her face back into her neck so she has a huge roll and no neck.  No neck and all, she's still the cutest baby!!

She was so proud of herself for sitting like a big girl all by herself on Granny's recliner...so silly.

Being silly out shopping.

"Hey Mommy, I look pretty good in these!"

"Yeah, check me out!!"
How I can get Kalia to look at the camera and smile but not Chris is beyond me.  It's taken her less than 6 months...we've been married for over 5 years.  Sigh...love you babe!

 Rehearsal Dinner!

I'm not quite sure why I do this, but in all of my full length shots, I stick out my belly when I'm holding Kalia.  It's like I think I'm still pregnant or something.  I guess it's more comfortable to hold Kalia on my belly/hips!

The wedding!

I don't have any on my camera of the three of us smiling, but I'm hoping Aunt Christina maybe got one.  Kalia was funny though when we did the big family shot of cousins.  There were probably 40-50 people in front of the photographer, and she had this huge grin on her face the entire time the photographer was flashing away.  What a ham!  Anyways, here's what I do have of the three of us :

Back home...I gave Kalia a carrot to teeth on.  She went to town on it for quite awhile before I took it away from her, rinsed it off, and chopped it up for dinner.  For some reason that grossed Chris out...I guess I deal with Kalia drool all day long, I don't really think twice about it!

Kalia helping Daddy go through our weeks worth of mail from being gone.  She grabs at everything!

Whew...finally caught up with pictures from being gone...till next week!

Happy 25 week Birthday Kalia!

This week, Kalia :

  • sat on her cousin Maddie.  Aunt Christina is due with Maddie January 2nd.  We joked that she was sitting on Maddie everytime Aunt Christina held Kalia.  Maddie's not just going with the flow though, she kicked back!
  • celebrated her first Thanksgiving!  She did so well kicking on her blanket while we all ate.  She loved all of the fun attention and playmates that came to celebrate Thanksgiving with everyone (Granny and Grandpa, Grandpa and Grandma Drago, Uncle Shawn and Aunt Christina, Great Granny, and her 2nd cousins Jennifer and Brett).
  • enjoyed watching football Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!!  She still loves any and all TV, but we do try to limit it to football only (probably for our sake more than hers really!).
  • attended her first rehearsal dinner.  It was past her bedtime, but she was up, so I just took her.  She met a lot of great Aunt's, Uncle's, and 2nd cousins on Chris's Dad's side of the family.  Even though she was tired, she was really well behaved.
  • made sure not to let her Mommy or Daddy get out of her sight if we were out and not at Granny's house.  When people would hold her, she was okay as long as she could see one of us.
  • started reaching for us.  She's been reaching for lots of things for awhile now, but she's actually started to reach for one of us when she wants to be held.
  • touches people's faces when she likes them.  I think it's because I rub her cheek when I'm feeding her lots of times.
  • tries to put her hands in everyone's mouth.  I've got to break this habit!  I probably started this one too from constantly checking her mouth to see if those silly teeth have broken through yet (they haven't).
  • attended her first wedding.  She sang along with the intro songs and the one song that was sung during the wedding, but other than that didn't make too much noise and didn't cry.  She did chew on the back of the pew the entire time.  I'm a germ freak with her (I know it'll go away by baby 2, but I still am...), but I just let the pew chewing happen.  She went to the reception afterwards and made it all the way through till about 630 before deciding she was done.  The wedding started at 3, and I had to wake her up from a nap to get her ready at 2, so she did really really well!
  • smiled a lot.  She's such a happy baby!
  • made her second big road trip back home Sunday night.  She cried and fussed for the first hour, but after we stopped to feed her, she slept for a little over 5 hours!  We stopped and fed her again and then she stayed up the rest of the way home.  She was so funny when she got home...she kept smiling at everything in her room and wouldn't just go to sleep without looking around.  I turned on her mobile for her and after she had taken everything back in, she turned over and went to sleep.  Amazing!
  • ate more rice cereal.  She fought it off the first half of the week.  On Sunday, Chris put her in the bjorn and wore her while I shoved some bites in, and she finally started actually leaning in towards the bites and not throwing up her hands and trying to fight it off.  There's hope!!!  She'll take something else besides me!!!  :-)
  • is sort of trying to crawl.  The first half of the week, her Granny and I tried to assist in crawling and she did not find it as amusing as we did.  On Monday, I just held up her tummy and she brought her legs up underneath her all on her own.  I had to sort of put her hands forward for her to get what to do, but it's a start.  Before she'd just flail all around when I'd hold up her belly.
  • decided she wasn't going to sleep after coming back from Granny's house.  Monday night and Tuesday night were both semi miserable...she was up every hour or two.  We're exhausted!
I took too many pictures this week...Kalia was being a goof!

"Okay Mommy, I'll smile...but I'm too big to lay down like this anymore."
"Yay!  I'm a big girl!"
"No Mommy, really...do you see how big I am?!"
So big!
"Okay Mommy, I'm kind of done already...this is your last smile."
"I said no more smiles!!!  I'll talk instead!!"
"All done...this is booo-ring!"
