49 week bonus pictures

Kalia and I before BF support group up at the hospital.

Kalia doing her fish face.  She only does it when she's trying to suck on something really hard.  In this case, she thought her greek yogurt was lip smacking good.

You can see where her top gums are starting to get white.  She'll probably have those two teeth popping through in the next 4-6 weeks.  That's what happened with the bottom ones anyways!

She was so cute dragging around this little blanket everywhere one day.  She HAS to have something in her hand!

"Hey Mommy!!"
"You'd better come quick, I'm gonna try to go to Kodi's water bowl and drown myself!!"
"Okay fine, I'll go for roomba instead!!"
What Kalia looks like most mornings before we go for our morning walk (which has become a part of the routine again, it's just shorter distance and takes longer because Kalia actually walks.).  Something in her hand and a mischievousness grin on her face.

Being cute in her high chair after the beach.  This is her try to be cute face.

"Hey Mommy, the phone is for you!"

Mother's Day after church.

After swim time (which is why she's just in a dipe!).  This is Kalia telling me she's "AAAAALLLL DONE!" about something or another.

"Haha Kodi, it's not nap time, it's play time!  Silly doggie!"
"EEEEYEEEE!"
Me: "Kalia, let Kodi sleep please.  Kodi night night."  Kalia : "Whaaaa??  I can't play with Kodi?!?!  WHYNOT?!"
And the standard thing that will fix anything when she's throwing a fit.  I told her to show me her belly button.  Such a silly little girl!

"Daddy, I have no idea how that got on the ground.  I was over here playing with my foam border.  I'll help you put it back though!"
The view of Kalia I capture most on camera.  Love that little ladybug hiney!!

Playing fetch with Kodi!  Kodi fetched the ball, Kalia fetched the Kodi-man.

...which she thought was hilarious!

Bike ride to the Y!

As Kalia says, "AAAAALLL DONE!"

Happy 49 week Birthday Kalia!

This week, Kalia :
  • doesn't sit or stop moving until she passes out in her crib.  She's just go go go go go!
  • weighed in at 21 lbs 7 ounces at breast feeding support group on Wednesday.
  • showed all of her little friends at breast feeding support group how her furry brother eats.  There were some cheerios on the floor and she leaned over, put both her hands on the ground, and sucked them up with her mouth.  We're apparently working on building up her immune system.  This child of mine...some days...geez...
  • went to the beach on both Friday and Saturday and had a blast.  On Friday we took Grandma Debbie down to Honeymoon Island and showed her how we "swim swim swim".  We sat near-ish to the water and Kalia decided now that she can walk, she'd just walk on into the water and take off swimming.  Good thing Mommy is quick!  On Saturday we met up with our beach volleyball crew and took turns playing with Kalia and playing volleyball.  Kalia absolutely loved digging in the sand and filling up her bucket with sand.  She showed Daddy how much fun it was to swim swim swim in the ocean.  She loves that we can walk out and her face can be close to ours.  The salt water startled her a little at first, but she quickly got over it.  Her fear / hatred of the sand is most definitely gone!
  • went to church on Sunday and went to the nursery there for almost an hour and a half and did great!  They said next time she's upgrading to the toddlers room though.  They keep babies in one room until they're walking really well, and then move them over to the toddlers room, which is under two.  She cried when she heard me talking to the lady that is in charge of the nursery, but she said Kalia hadn't cried the entire time and had a lot of fun.
  • has to keep something in her hand at almost all times.  When we take her for walks outside, if she doesn't have one of her toys, she will pick up everything and put it in her mouth.  If she has a toy, she only picks up 90% of things.  Hey, it's an improvement!
  • had a lot of fun playing with Nancy on Monday night while Mommy and Daddy played volleyball.  Nancy is impressed with how much of a self-player she is.  She'll bring her toys to you, show you what they do, and then go play by herself for awhile, checking to make sure you're still there every now and again.
  • has slowed down quite a bit on her eating.  I guess that means her growing is probably slowing down some too.
  • is moving beyond walking to running half of the time.  She still has her legs pretty straight, but she can get them going at mach 100!  She likes playing fetch with Kodi and trying to beat him to the ball.
  • joined the YMCA with Mommy and Daddy on her 49th week Birthday.  We all three rode our bikes up there (it's a mile away), and Daddy took Kalia to play on the playground while Mommy worked out.  Apparently Kalia has decided that walking around the entire playground to get to the top of the slide is quite silly and a waste of time.  She likes to slide down the slide, then turn around, grab onto the side of the slide, and walk herself back up.  All by herself.  We might need to work on sharing!
  • still loves to dance.  She'll point at the radio and say "uh!!!" until you turn it on, and then she'll stand there and pop her little butt for a few minutes.  So cute!
