- spent the majority of the week up in Niceville. We got back Monday morning at 2 a.m.!
- was a dancing fool. She pops her little butt up and down to the beat of whatever music is going on with her little toys or when I beat a box or whatever song is in her head. For the music that comes from her little toys, she actually has rhythm. She speeds up and slows down with the beat!
- loves playing peek a boo. Granny got her a peek a boo bear and Kalia got real serious with it and we weren't sure if she was 100% thrilled with it to start off with. The next day she started holding things above her face and pulling them down and smiling. Now she does it with walls, table legs, behind my back, and the book I'm trying to read to her at bedtime. She's such a goof!
- started sleeping through the night - hallelujah!! It took her Daddy a few nights of spending a few hours getting her back to sleep, and then the cycle was broken. She now goes 10-12 hours before waking up!
- went to the beach in Destin and had a great time. We took her down to where the sand isn't so soft, and at first she was iffy, and then another little girl came up and started playing, and Kalia thought she was great. After that, we were good to go. She knocked down sand castles, dug, banged around, ate, nursed (I ran out of milk in a cup for her!), and did her fair share of squealing.
- spent Thursday and Sunday with her Granny and Grandpa while we went to the beach to enjoy more 'us' time. Thursday she went down for another nap with Granny and Sunday we got back before it was time for her go down again. She did really well and was just as happy as could be!
- said "ahhh dahh" when she was done eating. I clapped and told her good girl all excitedly. She spent the rest of the week saying "ahh dahh" to anything and everything. Sigh...
- did not enjoy her car ride home from Niceville. It only took me an hour to get her to go to sleep in the truck, but then she woke up three hours away from home and wouldn't go back to sleep. We stopped and I nursed her, but that still didn't work. I kept her appeased for two hours, but none of my tricks worked for that last hour. I finally reached the breaking point and just put myself over her car seat while we were going down the interstate and gave her what she wanted - my boob. Oiy. It was either that or Chris was going to crash and there was nowhere to pull over. I could only hold myself over top of her for a few minutes at a time, then I'd take a break, and then when she got too loud, I'd do it again. Not the highest point in breast feeding, but it was all I could come up with to do! I figured it was safer than taking her out of the car seat.
- is all out of sort with her bedtime. Between the time changing for being up in the panhandle, and then the time changing for daylight savings, she's just confused. Both Monday and Tuesday she didn't go to bed until after 9!
- spent Monday night playing with Nancy. She wouldn't go to sleep by the time we left for volleyball (which was 5 minutes before our game started - oops!), so Nancy got her out of the crib and they played in her play room. We came home to a happy baby - thanks so much Nancy!
