Kalia : 17.5 months

Kalia
  • says "nice horse" and pretend pets an imaginary horse all of the time.  We took her to the horse farms and she hasn't forgotten about them!
  • has been going to the Y, church, and the MOPS group again.  We're leaving her for the first time (with both of us gone - ahhh!), so I want to make sure she's used to someone else being in charge besides us!
  • has started trying to take off her diaper.  We've been putting her in disposable's to sleep, and she things those things are great to pull off.  I'll hear "all done diaper!!!" and the sure sound of the velcro coming undone and walk in to her handing me her diaper.
  • can full undress herself.  Shirt, pants, dresses - all of them can come off.  She tries to put them back on, but is better at taking them off than putting them on.  I think that's because she'd much rather be naked!
  • eats a lot.
  • says a ton.  She's got her own words for some things.  The funniest / horribleist thing she says is blanket, which she pronounces "bit-ches".  Yep.
  • has started trying to boycott naps again if I don't get her in her crib early enough.  She easily overtires herself, and then will sit in the crib for HOURS playing.  She doesn't scream, she just plays in the dark.  It sounds sort of okay because she has down time, but she is a bit of a tyrant afterwards because she hasn't had her nap and anything and everything becomes a big deal.
  • is super loud, especially around other kids.  If there's just one or two, she's loud and plays, if there's a lot, she kind of watches, or goes off to the side to play and watch.
  • is amazing and goofy and loves to laugh and play!
We jogged Kalia and Kodi over to the horse farms and the park.  Kalia was all about the horses until they came over to say hi, and then she got scared!

Daddy : "Nice Horse, Kalia!"
Kalia scared, holding onto Chris for dear life.
Giving in and deciding that the horse is indeed nice.  After this, she pretend pets the air and says "nice! nice!".

Taking Elmo to go see the next horse...

Kalia : "Hey horsie, come over here so I can pet you!"

"Daddy, make the horse come over here."
Well fine, I'll go get the horse myself if you're not going to help!

No Daddy, not pictures, HORSE!
Horse coming over to say hi...

Nevermind Daddy!!  Scary horse!!
Okay, nice horse...but only if you stay between me and the horse Daddy.
We tried to see if Kalia could still fit in these big things that we used to put her in at the park.  Verdict - not so much!

Few goofy slide shots.  I need to print out the bottom one where Kalia and I are going down the slide and put it next to the one where I went down the slide when I was pregnant with Kalia that Erin took for my maternity pictures!

This is how a typical walk / run home goes sans Chris.  We walk, then run, then I lose it, and Kalia goes back into the stroller!

We saw this on the bank of the pond by our home on our way back.  Kalia kept yelling "alligator!!!"

Kalia helped me cook a mini pizza.  We had our matching aprons on, so I tried to get her to smile with our creation.  She was more interested in eating it than posing with it!

Notice that she's smiling at her pretend camera instead of Daddy's camera!

She dumped these cheerios all over the floor and started saying "pick up, pick up!" and then eating them.  Umm...I guess that's picking them up!  Oh, and she insists on wearing certain things sometimes, so I let her artistic side show.  We look like a hot mess a lot of the times!

On our way to church!

After church.  I thought this was so cute...look at how Kalia and Chris's legs are exactly the same!

More after church pictures...

I don't even have words for this.  Kalia's been giving us a rough go with sleep some nights, so maybe we're all delirious.  Chris put on Kalia's tunnel and chased her around our kitchen loop.  She thought it was great!  I think something is wrong with my husband!

I was making Kalia breakfast the other morning and looked around the kitchen sink to see this.  Goofy girl.  The Gator's weren't playing during a week day!  :-)

She stands like this a lot and looks at me between her legs.  I thought it was cute that she posed her doll that way!
