- decided naps were for the birds. She's still mad that she's on her tummy. If we can put her on her side and rub her back some, she'll go to sleep, but there's no more sneaking her into the crib, and if she rolls onto her stomach (which is 99% of the time), she just cries cries cries.
- is teething. I know I keep saying this, but we finally figured out, I think, that this is part of her sleep woes. She was up for 3 hours on Sunday night (really morning, 115 a.m. till 415 am) chewing on our fingers, and then only slept an hour for the entire day nap wise on Monday. Finally I gave her tylenol, and she didn't sleep anymore, but she wasn't so upset. On Tuesday, I gave her a dose of tylenol and she put herself to sleep within 10 minutes of taking it and slept for 2 1/2 hours. She hasn't taken a nap for that long in forever!
- finally slept without the quilt covering the window for her nap. Thank goodness!!! Keeping my fingers crossed that this one lasts. Her dark room was making me depressed!
- amazed everyone at breast feeding support group with how long she is. They think she's growing by the months instead of weeks. She's out of most of her 3-6 month clothes. Her dresses still fit, but they're a little on the short side! Kalia's got her Daddy's long torso, so it's not just all legs!
- lost a lot of her hair, and then grew some more back in, but only in the old man sections. Her bald spot is still filling in some, and the rest of her hair looks like an old balding man. She's got some hair around the bottom of her head, and the rest is thin and falling out! Poor baby girl!
- lost her ear hair. Thankfully. She used to have these dark hairy patches on the tips of her ears, and those went with her hair falling out.
- likes to stand more than sit. If you try to pull her in a sitting position, she uses her legs to push herself right on up to standing.
- met her boyfriend, baby Yulander, this past weekend. Daddy says no for real boyfriends 'till she's 30. He made sure they kept the door open when they went to check out her room!
- went to a pumpkin patch for the first time. We thought with the Wells's here, it'd be a great time to get some cute family photos. Kalia thought otherwise. She refused to smile for a single picture...we were lucky if she's just look at the camera without crying. We got home from the pumpkin patch and she thought it was a good time to be smiley/giggly then. Sigh...kids!! :-)
- has started not only reaching for her toys, but being coordinated enough to pull on some of the strings for her toys too.
- sat up all by herself for a solid minute + on her 19 week birthday. She does pretty well on her own with putting her arms out in front of her to balance herself out, but she gets tired of that too easily. She wants to grab stuff. She sat and looked at her singing dog without falling down and without doing the tripod thing all by herself!! SO BIG!
- has found Mommy's face and thinks it's awesome to try to eat it. She brings my eyes, cheeks, nose, to her mouth and tries to put it in. She's also licked my face a few times. I think maybe she's trying to kiss me. When I give her big smooches on her cheeks, she thinks it's really funny, and then she'll turn her head and lick my cheek. Silly girl.
- loves the swings. She was so upset and having a rough day on afternoon, so we took her for a drive. When that didn't work, we pulled over at a play ground we were passing and went on the swings and she laughed, laughed, laughed. It made our day - so cute!!!
Bonus Pictures coming soon....
Her eyes look like they're getting a little green in them, or is that just the lighting? She always looks so smiley and cute!
