Seriously, we're already in the 50's?! These are the last few of the weekly posts. I'll actually miss this too, but it's quite a lot to keep up with every detail and little miss thing all at the same time! I'll still post pictures of course, but the weekly's will stop after week 52. I can't believe it's 2 weeks away...
This week, Kalia:
- went down to the Y with me on Wednesday for a Mommy and Me class. Really there was 15-20 2-5 year olds, two camp counselors, and Kalia and I. They played songs and ran around in circles and acted like crazy animals and climbed in tunnels and bounced on balls for 45 minutes straight, and Kalia had an absolute blast. She did everything the bigger kids did and flapped her arms the entire time while running around and screaming with delight. It was so so so cute! The music said to freeze, and all of the little kids stopped in place, so Kalia did it too - but then decided it was a good time to break out into her own dance and started popping that little butt of hers while everyone was in a freeze. Such a silly little girl!
- swam a lot with Kodi. She likes to throw his ball into the pool and then try to beat him swimming to it. She also has decided that she loves her float thing from last summer (bonus pictures coming soon!) and loves to splash around with it. She was unsure about it until this week.
- knows where her head, eye, ear, nose, mouth, toes, feet, and belly button are. If she's throwing a fit, you can ask her where her belly button is, and she'll stop crying and show it to you. Although sometimes when I ask her to show me those things in front of other people, she makes me look silly and just gives them or me a blank look. :-)
- is picking up on a lot of things. In her books that we read to her before she goes to bed, she can point out correctly : the moon, flowers, bear, holes, cloud, sun, raindrop, girl, boy, baby, and stars are.
- tries to say dog. When she hears one barking she'll stop what she's doing and say either "doogggg" or "doooodddd". I emphasize the g, so she emphasizes the d at the end some times.
- went for a lot of morning walks with Mommy and Daddy. We're trying to get her back into her naptime routine, so we're attempting to wear her out. So far she's winning and Mommy and Daddy are ready for naps and she's still go go go go go!
- waves to cars as they drive by while she's walking, and then turns around to follow them while still waving. I can only imagine how cute she looks from someone's review mirror!
- likes to walk out into the middle of the street. Oiy.
- played in the kid zone at the YMCA for about 20 minutes while Mommy and Daddy did a quick workout. She didn't see us leave, and we were in a hurry, so I just let it go, but we can't leave her without saying goodbye to her first, or she doesn't do well. She started whining there, so they picked her up and walked around with her until we got back. She was okay, just not her normal happy go lucky self. We made up for it with the next bullet :
- played in the 2 foot pool at the Y and thought it was GREAT fun!! She can stand all the way around there, and she loved splashing and swimming in it. After about 30 minutes of non stop swimming, she stood up and then said "ALL DONE!" She wore herself out!
- absorbs the sun like crazy. She takes after her Daddy. I put SPF 50 on her before and wait at least 15 minutes before doing anything outside and reapply if we're out for longer than 30-40 minutes, and the girl still has tan lines. She's been doing this for awhile, I just keep forgetting to post on it.
- had a busy, fun filled 50 week birthday! Her friend Reese came over and played after her first nap, and then after her second nap, Daddy came home with her little friend Aila (we're the go-to for when Monica goes into labor or something comes up - this time it was just an improptu test run!). Kalia did well playing with both girls, although we're working next week on sharing her toys. She got jealous of Mommy and Aila though and decided she was going to be pretty clingy before bedtime. She was definitely exhausted from playing so hard all day though!
- doesn't wake up at 515 a.m. if we get her down before 7 p.m.. If it's after 7, her wake up time is 515. Before, it's 615-630. She does really well with putting herself to sleep for naptimes, but is struggling with bedtime. Daddy goes in most nights and rocks her to sleep.
Onto more important things - pictures!

"You're so silly Mommy, you can just tell me to smile, you don't have to be a complete goof!" |
 |
"See, I'll even pose with my hand under my chin! " |
 |
"I know, I know, I'm cute!!" |
There aren't that many bonus pictures this week...mainly I got Kalia walking towards or away from me, and that's about it! She's too quick and she refuses to sit still these days. Stay tuned!
