Happy 22 week Birthday Kalia!

This week, Kalia :
  • had a play date at her home on Wednesday with her best friend Aila and her new friend Reese.  Reese is 2 months older than Kalia.  Since neither one of them are crawling, we plopped them on the floor next to each other.  They interacted a ton with each other, and held hands a few times!  Aila was super cute with Kalia too - she likes to give her kisses.  Kalia slept for 3 hours after they left - amazing!
  • put herself to sleep for nap time on Thursday without crying or fussing at all.  I did our sleep routine (read 1-2 short books, sing 2-3 songs, rock her for a few minutes, and then put her in her crib), and normally she'll cry as soon as I set her down for a few minutes, and then fuss and whine for about 15-20 minutes before falling asleep.  Unless she's already asleep, I turn on her mobile for her too.  This time, she watched the mobile for awhile, then rolled around the crib and played with the slats, and then rolled over to her tummy and went to sleep.  The only sounds were little cooing noises every now and again.  Not a single cry or fuss - yay!
  • can see really far.  She can see us in the kitchen from the living room.  We play peek a boo with her while we're cooking in the kitchen and she's kicking in the living room.  She thinks its great.
  • went to her very first Gator game and did so well there!!!  We waited until the 2nd quarter to go in, and she was doing great in the stands until we scored a touchdown.  The noise was too much for her, so I took her and walked around in the entrance ramp area.  The usher told me we could go sit in the box seats above the stairs, and Kalia did awesome there!  We stayed through the end of the 2nd quarter, and then met Janelle and Yulander and went in the F club.  Kalia's eyes were huge...she was taking everything in, and then all of the sudden her head dropped and she passed out.  Chris was wearing her, he turned her around, and she took a 30-40 minute cat nap.  We went into Yulander's office and changed and nursed her after that, and then went and watched the 4th quarter up in our little box.  Pictures coming soon!!
  • holds her head up a lot.  She doesn't like to sit up for very long, but she's working on those muscles!
  • smiles whenever we turn on the TV.
  • thought Kodi playing soccer was hilarious.  This morning I put her in the bjorn and wore her while I kicked the soccer ball around and she laughed, laughed, laughed.  I called Chris so he could listen.  That's the hardest either one of us have heard her laugh so far!
  • reaches for everything.  She's getting pretty coordinated too.
  • chews on her fists, fingers, and thumb...and really everything else too.  She chews, she doesn't suck.  At this rate I think she'll be drooling and chewing on everything until she goes to college and will still be toothless.
  • thinks this time change thing is for the birds.  Our new wake up time is 6 a.m. instead of 7 a.m..
