Happy 48th week Birthday Kalia!

This week, Kalia :
  • walked, walked, walked, walked!!  Kodi seems to be more attached to her now that she's walking.  He's like "oh, you're a HUMAN!!!  I get it now!!"  I think he was confused before!
  • did well with napping and bedtime until Saturday.  I was worried that it'd be hard to get her back on schedule after Melbourne, but she did really well for the first part of the week.
  • has a new love for her gumbi toy.  I think it's replaced Sophie.  I like it better because it doesn't squeak, so when she's tired, I'm not worried about her chewing on a squeaker toy that's going to keep her awake!
  • had her cousin Maddie come to her home for her first time!!  She thought Maddie was great.  She showed her where here eyes and ears were all weekend long.  Maddie was a great sport about it!
  • tried to pick up her cousin Maddie.  I think Kalia thought she was a cool doll.  She literally grabbed a hold of Maddie by her onesie and tried to lift.
  • did not want to sleep at all when her Uncle Shawn, Aunt Christina, and cousin Maddie were visiting.  There was too much fun stuff going on, and sleeping was for the birds.  She gave us quite a run for our money on Saturday night and didn't go to bed until 10 p.m..  Maddie is a little sleeper, so Uncle Shawn and Aunt Christina got to see the other end of the spectrum.  We make a big deal out of sleep going well around these parts because when it doesn't, it's disastrous!
  • showed Maddie how fun the playground and infant swings are.
  • went through the tunnel at the playground all on her own for the first time.  She was scared of it at gymboree, and was a little timid at first on the playground, but got over it and took off.  Which was a little scary for Mommy because Mommy is too big for the 2 - 5 year old playground and didn't fit through the tunnel.  Luckily Aunt Christina was on the other side and helped keep Kalia on the actual playground.  Kalia thinks she's invincible and tries to walk down the slides a lot of the times with Mommy and Daddy!
  • decided she was over talking and just wanted to make loud noises while Uncle Shawn and Aunt Christina were here.  I think it's a part of the excitement.  The only thing she really said clearly was "allll done!!!"  That's her two favorite words!
  • had about an hour of downtime after Uncle Shawn and Aunt Christina left before Grandma Debbie showed up.  Lots of play mates this week!
  • still loves to swim, swim, swim in the pool.  She's such a little fish!
  • let Grandma Debbie put her back to sleep when Mommy and Daddy went to volleyball.  Her bedtime has gotten pushed back with all of the visitors / traveling, so we tried to get her down before we had to leave at 7, and she wasn't having any of it.  After her 20 minute fuss period, Grandma Debbie went in and rocked her for about 20-30 minutes and calmed her down, and then put her back in her crib, and she actually went to sleep on her own.  Yay!!
  • went with Grandma Debbie and Mommy to Jo-Ann's on her 48th week birthday and did really well.  She got a little hungry, but Mommy packed enough food to tide her over until we got home.  She did want to walk through the store all by herself though and pick up everything and put it in her mouth.  Good thing Grandma Debbie was there to help!
Pictures were late late this week after a long, exciting day and right before bedtime, so they were, as usual, quite a challenge.  I think Kalia's ready for her 52 week birthday to get here so she doesn't have to do these every week too!  Yes, after 52 weeks, the weekly birthday posts are going away.  I don't plan on doing this until she goes to college!!

"Seriously Daddy, ALL DONE!!!!"
