Happy 51 week Birthday Kalia!

Last week of being less than 1 year old.  So so crazy how quickly it's all flown by!

This week, Kalia :

• weighed in at 21 lbs 5 ounces at breast feeding support group on Wednesday.  She basically didn't change at all weight wise again, definitely slowing down with her growing!
• went swimming every single day.  She absolutely loves the pool and her float from last summer.  We worked on blowing bubbles and floating.  She'll let me put her on her back now, but still isn't all that comfortable with it.  She started making the bubble motion (blowing raspberries really) out of the water, so I put her face in the water while she was doing that to show her bubbles, and got a little too excited and put her face in a little too far.  I think she's boycotting bubbles this next week!  Oops!
• absolutely loves her squeaky shoes.  She loves loves loves walking around in them!
• can't put herself to sleep at night.  She screams bloody murder until we go in and rock her until she's asleep or almost asleep.  It seems that her magic window for going to sleep is 8 p.m. (which has her up sometime in the 5 a.m. range), but if we rock her to sleep before 730, she'll sleep until 615ish.  The magic window is dumb.
• went for a walk before her morning naptime every day.  It's too hot to be out walking during the day right now, so we walk normally before breakfast (which is 730).  She has to pick up every single thing and hand it to me or try to put it in her mouth.  Between her and Kodi, I can't keep the neighbors newspapers in their driveway.
• has started to actually understand and listen to leave it in new situations.  She doesn't always listen, but she's actually pretty good about it.
• worked on sharing with Mommy with mixed results.  I'd have her "share" her toy with me and "yay" her for being good.  It turned into she'd hand me her toy, clap her hands as to yay me, and cry at the same time.  She apparently wasn't happy about the yaying part.  She had Reese over on her 51 week birthday and didn't really love sharing her toys with her.  She clapped and cried.  It's a start though!
• really loves to sit on soft things.  She walks backwards to sit on Kodi's dog bed and plops down.  We make a pillow fort next to the daybed, and she thinks that is great fun.  I've moved the floor cushions from her room out to the kitchen, and she moves those around and sits on them all over the place.
• is into all of her 18 month clothes and we've brought out some of the 2T pj's.  Her head is too big for some of the 18 months already!
• loves people.  She smiles and waves at everyone.  The garbage man put his truck in reverse and came back to say hi to Kalia one morning.
• Did not love us leaving her at the Y in the Kid Zone.  It was close to closing time again and there weren't too many other kids.  I got them to let me come in and show her all of the toys and fun things to play with, and then she did well stomping around and playing for the last 10 minutes they were open!
• loves slides.  She likes to go down them and then climb right back up them.  
• loves to dance.  She makes us turn on the radio all of the time so she can do her little dance move of popping her little butt.  She's added in an arm swing every now and again!

Kalia was a goof with her pictures this week.  She plopped right on the pillow and kept scooting herself back into the corner and then smiling at me.  It's like she's done this whole picture thing a few times before and finally gets the gest of it!  Just as it's ending!
