Happy 7 week Birthday Kalia!

First up, I had my 6 week post partum checkup on Wednesday of last week.  I am free and clear to exercise and don't have to go back to visit the obgyn until next year!!!  Woo Hoo!!  And, 9 more lbs of Kalia love to loose...hopefully sooner than later!

Now, onto more important matters...

This week, Kalia :

• went on her first official jog in the jogging stroller.  Since I was released, we can now all four run, which makes Kodi very happy.  Kalia enjoyed the ride!
• attended her first picnic at the beach.  We stayed under the pavillion the whole time and didn't venture down to the beach at all, but she was a rockstar.  She laid in her travel bed and kicked around the whole time.
• has increasingly loved her Einstein Gym more and more (thanks T!!).  She loves to look around and kick and move for a good long stretch down there.  
• has started babbling some.  She likes to make vowel sounds.  A lot of the time she'll smile at me if I repeat the noise she just made.
• is increasingly smiling and laughing.  Most of the time, when Chris or I kiss her now, she'll smile at us!  So cute!
• tries to pick her head up while laying down.  She strains her neck, her eyes get really big, and she concentrates really hard.  It's really funny!!
• attended her first volleyball game.  We put her in her bouncer inside of her pack n play and had an audience keeping their eye on her.  She let me play an entire 2 1/2 games before she started crying because she had a poopy diaper!  She was a rockstar there too...we were both SO impressed!!
• went to the East Lake Library for the first time on her 7 week birthday.  They had an age 0-3 story time this morning, so we attended.  Kalia slept for most of it, but was really well behaved towards the end when she woke up.

Kalia's eczema has pretty much cleared up.  Her Johnson and Johnson baby lotion made it worse at first, but once we got Aveeno lotion for baby for eczema, it started getting better.  She's still got a few bumps left from the reaction to the initial lotion.  Thanks Aunt Christina for emailing us that tip!!

Kalia threw a fit initially at pictures this week, so I put her in her crib with the pillow to take pictures instead.  She loooves her mobile, so I thought that might work.

At first I put her on the pillow, but she's entirely too active to stay on that for very long!

After awhile, I put her back in her chair.  She'd only not throw a fit if I sat her up some.  She's over laying down.  I think she's going through another growing spurt.  She's feeding all of the time and she's looking so big!!

Here's her goofy / smiley side.  She gets this side from her Momma!

Not to worry though, she still very much has her Daddy's serious side too (her goofy side comes from Daddy too...he's just an under cover goof ball)!

Kalia let me know that snapping 200+ pictures of her was getting boring, so if we could go play on her gym, that would be much appreciated...

I've seriously got to calm down with these photo shoots...I have entirely too many pictures to choose between!!  She's just so stinkin cute, especially with her new found smile that she flashes for us!!
