Happy 8 week Birthday Kalia!

This week, Kalia :
  • outgrew her bassinet.  Well, really  Aunt Arrietta's borrowed bassinet.  She's now sleeping in the top of her pack n play next to our bed.  I moved her to the vanity area for a few nights, but there's not enough air in there, and one of the things they say to do to prevent sids is to make sure there's a fan on and the baby's room is cold.  Better safe than sorry!
  • weighed in at 12 pounds at Breast Feeding support group.  She was dressed and had little jean shorts on, but I'm sure by now, she's up to the big 1-2 weight wise!
  • had her first front and back blow out diaper.  The mess was from her belly button to the middle of her spine.  After what seemed like a million wipes, I gave up and just gave her a bath.  Apparently Kalia doesn't really like cake.  My thighs will thank her at some point!
  • really loves noises.  When I make airplane noises with my lips, her eyes get huge and then she tries to mimic the sound.
  • has become quite the talker.  I'll make her noises back at her and she'll smile and talk back for sometimes an hour or more!
  • gave us another week full of fighting the bottle.  So far, Kalia's kicking our butt and we've had zero success.  We'll keep trying...
  • did not love volleyball so much this week.  She's still eating every hour, and with not taking the bottle, that leaves me with very little time to do anything.  She was starving by the 3rd game, and let the whole gym know.  This next week, we're working on pushing out her feeding times some.  Should be fun!
  • went to her first birthday party on Saturday.  She slept for half of  it, and then when she woke up kicked around and smiled at everyone.  She loves being around other little kids!
  • had a big 8 week birthday day.  I jogged her up to the library, we sat through story time then jogged home.  There's shade for most of the way, but we used her sun blocker netting that Granny Hoskins got her (thanks Granny!).  After we got home, we did picture time, then went to our first official play date at Monica's.  Kalia played with Aila's toys and had a great time.  After that, we went to volleyball at Honeywell and introduced her to the crew.  Everyone said how adorable she was!  Kalia didn't let Mommy play for very long though...she had too busy of a day and was tired and wanted to be cuddled and put to sleep!
  • started a new bedtime.  We've figured out (for this week at least) that if we get Kalia to bed by 730, the crazy crying and night fussiness  doesn't happen.  If we wait to start putting her to sleep until 730, it'll be 1030 - 11, or later, before we can get her down.
  • kicked from her back to her side all by herself while she was playing on her gym.  She was so proud of herself!
We had a good photo shoot this week.  All smiles!!

Too cute!!!
