- weighed in at 20 lbs 9 ounces at breast feeding support group on Wednesday. It's the first time that she hasn't changed weight in a two or three week period. She might finally be slowing down, although her 12 month onesies are all pretty much done. Maybe she grew longer and leaner over the past two weeks!
- upgraded to her big girl car seat. I had to shove her down into the car seat to take her to breast feeding support group on Wednesday to keep her head below the top of the seat, so we stopped on the way home and got her a new one. She's still rear facing, and she still hates it. She does okay if we're just around town and she's not sleepy, or Mommy and Daddy hang out in the back with her.
- is obsessed with eyes. She wants everyone to know that she knows where your eye is and will point at it, grab your eyelashes if you're wearing mascara, and squeal "eye".
- does an "eeee" sort of face expression when she's overly excited / anxious about something.
- went to her friend Reese's house on Friday for a play date and thought all of Reese's toys were really cool (thanks for having us over Amy!). She also thought Reese needed to know where her eyes were by stabbing them out (sorry!) and is infatuated with her hair (probably because she doesn't have any), so she thought she needed to pull that out too. Other than that, she did really well though, haha!
- is doing really well with putting objects (balls, blocks, etc.) in their correct holes. One of Reese's toys was a ball popper thing, and she had a great time picking the balls back up and putting them back in the machine for them to "pop" again.
- likes to push buttons (and not just Mommy's and Daddy's, but that too! :-)) on her toys to make them work. Even if the button isn't visible, if I show her how it works, she'll do it on her own repeatedly.
- does really well with independent play. She definitely likes to play with us, but she can stay pretty entertained in her play yard all by herself for quite sometime.
- went to gymboree for the first time for a birthday party. She went crazy crawling around on everything. She didn't care that the big kids wanted to run her over, she kept trying to keep up. She wasn't too sure about the tunnels though, but we got her to go through a few. Afterwards we went out to dinner with the Jordan's and Kelly's and their kiddos, and they all did really well. Taking her out to restaurants is challenging, minus the obvious reasons, because she wants to crawl and explore everything on her own. Walking with Mommy's hands doesn't get her from point A to point B as fast as her crawling does.
- got to meet her little friend Charlotte Genchi for the first time on Monday. They came and stayed Monday through Wednesday with us, and Kalia did really well with baby Charlotte. She's only 9 weeks old, and Kalia didn't get jealous of Mommy or Daddy holding Charlotte and didn't stab her eyes out. She's learning gentle, and I think it sort of kicked in with Charlotte around!
- has moved her bedtime back to between 7-8, but has also moved her wakeup time back to 630 a.m.. Thank goodness - the 5 a.m. thing was for the birds!
- hung out with Nancy on Monday night from 630-815 and did really well! I didn't even attempt to put her to sleep. I just handed her to Nancy, we said our goodbyes, and left. She didn't cry when we left or anything - yay!
- had an exhausting, but fun 45 week birthday. We had another friend from Sarasota with her two kiddos (ages 4 and almost 3) come up to play for the day. Kalia had a great time showing them her play room and swimming in the pool with them!
- tries to say "oh no!". Really what she does is throw something on the ground, put her hands up in the air, and make a loud noise. It's cute until she does it with the food on her tray...that is getting a little frustrating!! She will, however, eat her food that she throws on the floor off of the floor when she gets down. She would've been a perfect little sister for her Aunt Jennifer, haha! We try to pick most of it up before she gets down there though so that she doesn't think it's okay to throw food to eat it later!
- is trying to open doors. She stood herself up on our french doors to go to the pool deck and reached for the knob. She rattled it a few times, but she's not tall enough yet to actually get her hands on it. She did the same for the front door too when she wanted outside. Better start keeping our doors locked!

Now all you need are tater tots ;-) That's too funny! I take it Kalia's very close to walking...she looks like it in some of the videos. You are going to regret it when she does cause you won't be able to keep up! She does look a lot like Chris in her face expressions now. It's so weird seeing a little Chris as a girl...she's way cuter though! LOL!
