This week, Kalia:
- learned how to clap her hands for "yay". Every time she's happy about something, or wants you to be happy that she did something, she'll clap her hands together and get one of her big grins on her face.
- was sick pretty much all week. Nothing major, but enough to mess up her napping and bedtime routines. She didn't go down once without being helped by being rocked or nursed. One step forward, two steps back. Her wake up times ranged from 430-630 this week. Oiy.
- walked quite a bit, but only a short bit at a time. On Saturday we thought it was the coolest thing because she took 5 steps on her own. On Tuesday she walked quite a bit more than that all at once, but still prefers to crawl. She doesn't get very far very fast with walking on her own.
- walked with our hands a lot. She loves to walk this way...she uses our hand like she does her little car and pushes forward at mach 100. I've been taking her for walks around our neighborhood quite a bit, and I let her walk with my one hand for awhile, and then when she gets too tired or tries to let go and crawl into the middle of the road, I put her in the bjorn for a bit, and then do it again.
- loves flowers, birds, and planes. All three of those will stop her in the midst of her walking and she'll point and say "da" or "ba".
- added "yeah" to her vocabulary. We'll say her name, and she'll answer with "yeah". She also says it randomly in conversations all of the time. It's appropriate where she uses it, but I'm not 100% sure that she knows what she's actually "yeah"ing!
- still loves her bike seat. She's a goof still in it!
- is still such a little fish. We have to be really careful with her around the pool. She will step in the first step and the second step, and then jump from that step to go "swim". I think she learned it from Kodi!
- took advantageous of the nice cold front that came through and went for a 4 mile jog in the jogging stroller with me on Sunday. It's been too warm to take her in the middle of the day, so I stick to biking with her then, but this weekend was gorgeous. She waved and said hi to everyone, pointed at everything, and clapped her hands when she was proud of herself. We got a little less than a half mile from home before she started telling me "all done!!!". I just gave her my cell phone, and that appeased her the rest of the way home!
- had a fun play date at our home with Reese on Tuesday. Reese helped Kalia walk more than she's walked previously because Reese is a little walker. Kalia liked walking when there was someone at her height to walk with!
- really loves all of her books. She sits down with them and turns the pages and really looks at everything in them. I brought her daybed back into her room and put some cushions down on the floor, and she'll crawl back into the little nook with her books. She likes for us to read them to her too, but still only if it's short. She really likes to point to things and us tell her what they are.
- had a rough birthday night. For the first time in over 6 weeks, she woke up at 1 a.m. and wouldn't go back to sleep until 330. I didn't give her an afternoon nap, and she went to sleep pretty easily, which I was happy about, but waking up in the middle of the night was no fun. We're not used to functioning on that little of sleep anymore!
- knows where her belly button is. She kept trying to play with mine while she was nursing, so I showed her where hers was so she could play with that instead! She's really cute with it, she picks up her stomach, plays with the buttons on her diapers, and then puts her finger in her belly button and gets a big smile on her face. Such a silly little girl!
Me : "Kalia strike a pose."

"That's it! I'm gettin' outta here!!" |

"Oh Mommy, what am I gonna do with you? You and these pictures are so silly!" |
