Happy 52 week Birthday Kalia!

We did it!!!  We made it all the way through every week to the big 5-2!!  It's so crazy to look back through the pictures and blog entries for how much my little girl has grown over the past 52 weeks.  Simply amazing.

This week, Kalia :
  • went to the Y for her little music class they do there and had a great time.  She knows that they get the big bouncy balls out towards the end to bounce on, and kept running over to the closet pointing to the balls for me to bounce her on.  I think that might be her favorite part.  She thoroughly enjoys all of the loud music and kiddos running around.  She screams and flaps her arms to the music and runs around all excited.  One of the little girls likes to try to hold her hand and run with her, but Kalia kind of shoves her down.  We have to work on gentle!
  • went up to a little black girl at the Y and pulled her braids.  I really think she just didn't know what they were because she hasn't seen them before, and the little girl was really cute about it.  Kalia is one curious little girl!
  • actually floated on her back with me in the pool.  I tell her to look at me, which she does (while yanking my top mostly off), and I told her to relax, and she finally did and floated for about 3 seconds with my hands just hovering beneath her instead of holding her.  She got all excited and rolled to the side to swim swim swim to the steps, and then jumped off the steps and wanted to float some more.
  • is such a little fish.  She has zero fear of the water and loves to throw Kodi's toy in and then run off the pool deck, wherever she threw the toy, to get into the water.  Baby gates coming soon!
  • loves to sit on soft surfaces.  She's really big into sitting on the floor cushions or big pillows that I set up for her.
  • is really into waving hi and bye at everyone and everything.  People, birds, trees, flowers, dogs, cars, you name it, we wave to it.
  • helped Mommy and Daddy celebrate our 6 year wedding anniversary on Sunday!  We did breakfast out at East Lake Cafe and Kalia did great.  We brought her food and put it on the table (after we cleaned it, of course), and she sat in the high chair and ate and waved hi to anyone and everyone.  If they didn't wave back, she hollered at them to get their attention, and then gave them her big 'ol grin and waved.  After her morning nap, we headed out to Honeymoon Island and enjoyed a few hours at the beach.  She loved swimming in the ocean and stomping through the waves.  We don't really have any beach toys for her, but Kalia didn't really think that was a problem.  She just took all of the kiddos around us toys and played with them.  At one point she had these two huge sand shovels that were literally the size of her in either hand and was walking around screaming in delight at herself.  Two women walked by and said we needed to get out our camera, but I told them that those weren't even our toys!!  Beach pictures are semi impossible because Kalia heads towards the water at a million miles an hour.
  • has started calling dogs (including Kodi) "a dog".  I tell her that he's a" dog" or when she points at dogs, I tell her it's "a dog", so now dogs are "a dogs".  She's doing the same thing for Daddy.  I say "that's Daddy" when she points at pictures of him, and I say we love "that Daddy" or look at "that Daddy" all of the time, so now when she sees Chris she says "that Daddy!".  Such a little parrot!
  • still loves to dance and loves the music being on.  We leave the radio on the counter and she points at it until we turn it on and then dances.
  • tapped her foot to the music for the first time.  I told her to dance and started tapping my foot and she repeated what I was doing - so cute!
  • played in the rain with Mommy.  It's been raining here pretty non-stop.  We got tired of being cooped up inside after a few days, so when it was just raining and not lighting or thundering, I took Kalia outside and ran through the puddles.  She thought it was great!  She stomped, splashed, and laughed and laughed and laughed.  When we first walked outside she held out both her hands and looked up in awe of water falling from the sky.
  • did really great at being left in the Kid Zone at the Y for an hour!  She wasn't so sure at first, so I came in with her and showed her some of the toys, then another little girl that was 21 months came up to her and started playing with her, and that was the end of it.  I came by to check on her a few times, and she was all smiles and yells - yay!
  • loves loves loves balloons.  I've started on the decorations for her first birthday, and she can't stop pointing and smiling at the balloons!
Here's the very last week of weekly pictures!  Kalia has outgrown sitting down in the chair for pictures, she let me know numerous times that she was "alll done!!".  Daddy was home too, and Kalia had a great time diving off of the chair straight into Daddy's arms.  Funny, but not so great for pictures!

"ready to catch me Daddy?!"
"okay, fine...I'll smile first, then catch me!"
"well, if you're not going to catch me I'm getting off this thing!"

"catch me or I'm ALLLL DONE!"
"all done I say, ALL DONE!"

"ALLL DONE!!!!  Oh, you'll catch me now?!?!"
"yay!!!  Okay, on your mark!!!"
"get set....."
"wait, Mommy, are you getting this on film??  Daddy's gonna let me jump off the chair!!"
"What do you mean you're not ready yet Daddy?!?!  What have you been doing this whole time?!?!"
"You're funny Daddy, but unless you catch me, I'm outta here."

"Wait, that's not fair silly Daddy!  You can't just throw me back!!"
"Allright, are you ready this time?!?!  Cuz I'm really jumping!!!  Ready...set..."

"GOOO!!!!  YAY!!!!"
I know, overboard this week - I had to, it's the last one!!  Bonus pictures coming soon!!!
